In keeping with your abilities we aim to have you enjoy the sort of lifestyle that you would have been living at home. Some of the activities are cards, bowls and arts & crafts as well as an extensive musical programme. There is also ample scope to get ones hands dirty in the raised planting boxes of our beautiful kitchen gardens.
Additional to our weekly activities calendar, twice a year, Orwell Private has a fully heated marquee so all families can visit and enjoy a week-long programme of musical and artistic events provided by invited professionals, choirs, and school groups. All residents can also hone their golf skills on our putting green or help out in our beautiful gardens if they’re up to it. We encourage outings of all descriptions and are always looking for suggestions for new venues. These outings are facilitated by our in-house wheelchair- accessible minibus, which is also available for transport to hospital appointments or other short trips.
Our Men’s Shed is an ideal location for our male residents to hang out. All residents can also hone their golf skills on our putting green, or help out in our beautiful gardens, if they’re up for it?
We encourage outings of all descriptions, and we’re happy to listen to any requests from our residents in terms of organising visits to the locality and further afield. Afterall, we have our own wheelchair accessible minibus so we like to make the most of it. The minibus is also available to families for short trips which has become popular in recent months. Simply contact Reception to organise.
We welcome residents of all denomination, while respecting and facilitating local church visits. We hold weekly in-house religious services.
