Garville Private specialises in long‑term residential care, offering a warm, home‑from‑home environment supported by modern design, exceptional facilities and a strong commitment to resident wellbeing. Formerly Orwell Queen of Peace and acquired by Orwell Healthcare in 2017, the centre has now been fully redeveloped into a 130 bed, state‑of‑the‑art residence—featuring elegant ensuite bedrooms, secure outdoor spaces and a stunning rooftop garden with panoramic views of Dublin.

Activities include cards, flower arranging, arts and crafts, gardening and an extensive musical programme. Whether enjoying favourite hobbies, socialising with friends, or trying something new, residents are encouraged to remain active, engaged and connected.

We also encourage regular outings and excursions, from local visits to trips further afield. With our own wheelchair-accessible minibus, residents can continue to enjoy the wider community and maintain connections with the people and places that matter most. Families can also avail of the service for special outings together.

Fresh, nutritious meals are an important part of daily life at Garville Private. Our chefs prepare meals from scratch each day, offering residents a choice of dishes while accommodating individual preferences and specialised dietary requirements.

Meals are served in our comfortable dining rooms, while residents also have the option of dining in the privacy of their own room if preferred.

Spiritual Life

We welcome residents of all denominations while respecting and facilitating local church visits. The Church of the Three Patrons in Rathgar is accessible to the rear of the facility. We hold weekly in-house religious services and are privileged that the Sisters of St Paul de Chartres still live alongside the nursing home and contribute to its day-to-day life.
