We are delighted to announce that Orwell Healthcare has been shortlisted for Clinical Team of the Year at the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards!
The Clinical Team spent the entire month of February putting together a massive dossier outlining the incredible work they do on a daily basis at Orwell. Here’s an excerpt from the application that stood out to the judges:
Caring with awareness is an accurate description of our outstanding Clinical Team in Orwell Healthcare who are so deserving of this award. Described by all departments as dependable, knowledgeable, and, compassionate, they make it so we can provide the best care to residents without compromise.
Their solid and progressive teamwork has allowed us to confidently move forward, nurturing and developing new recruits to meet the same high standards, making the management of a full capacity Orwell Private look effortless.

Great to see the Activities Team playing tunes in the gardens of Orwell Private this afternoon and even better to see residents out enjoying it.
December 2020 – Staff Recognition Week on Monday we enjoyed festive coffee and biscuits and Tuesday there was a Santa Special Pick ‘n’ Mix! Great fun.
Staff Recognition Week ran from July 13th. On Monday there was a McDonald’s Breakfast to start the week with fuel in the belly for long shifts ahead. By Tuesday there was a gap ready for an ice cream from the lovely O’Brien’s Ice Cream Truck. Wednesday we gratefully and greedily tucked into the BBQ in the garden and Thursday there were soft drinks on ice for all. Friday finished off the week of treats nicely with a ‘coffee of choice’ and a monster cookie courtesy of our Cafe on the Avenue. We can’t thank the staff enough for the terrific work they do. What a team!
All Residents and Staff enjoyed a concert in the garden to celebrate Mother’s Day yesterday. The sun was shining and the spring bulbs were in bloom. many gifts and care packages arrived as Resident Families and friends continue to adhere to the ‘No Visitor’ policy.
Our new Pottery Class was a great hit with our Residents today. We look forward to seeing their creations over the coming months.
Its that time of the year – the Sisters have been out collecting the blackberries at Orwell Queen of Peace – yum!
